4 October 2015 Updates

This week, we added Chase (Andrew) to our team.

We meant to meet with Dr. Haddad, but despite having agreed upon a time to meet, other activities came up and this meeting was unable to occur.

We have basically identified the bigger picture goals we wish to achieve, and after the conclusion of the lecture regarding project management, intend to begin planning.

We also obtained a clearer picture of the expectations for our project by the end of the semester, which should help in the planning phase of our project.

Items that we need to discover or decide most at this point include choice and costs of specific RFID reader, choice of programming language, and selection of software for the database we wish to establish.

We are currently looking up different avenues in which we would translate information from the RFID read to the database from a hardware perspective. We have researched methods on the implementation of an arduino board and are currently brainstorming ways we could transfer data from the board wirelessly.

Our team has conducted research on current uses of RFID technology and how these methods translate information to databases such as spreadsheets in order to implement these ideas into our own project, or get a better understanding of how we would translate the information.
