For the most part, this week’s progress is negligible.
We drafted our project proposal. The conclusion thereof includes our two goals that we wish to accomplish with the final product of our project: eliminate the time obligation of attendance taking and streamline attendance data gathering. Ideally, these specified goals will guide our project focus.
Finishing the ‘social experimentation’ assignment, we find our project to have a low cost of production and low risk of ethical violations when compared to the disadvantages of the current attendance system; the expected potential of an ethical breach after our product is virtually identical to the present potential.
We’ve also come to the conclusion that the scope of our project shouldn’t be anything that someone with malintent could seriously take advantage of; that is to say, monitoring of this product will likely be low level.
Research of a very basic concept of basic RFID technology and some of its limitations has been conducted. Block diagrams were constructed for an overall view of how our system should work. One of our main challenges would be figuring out how to get the RFID chips to translate information from the RFID reader to the database.
Finally, we’ve begun the faint draft to an outline of our project timeline, which will include a path of gates to be breached on our way toward conquering this project, costs of the resources needed to overcome said gates, as well as designs to attack each of the gates.
